A simple little nibble tray to keep Honey occupied while watching Miss M at her athletics carnival earlier in the year.

Easy Lunchbox Dinners

 For the school holidays I chose to trial working less days but for longer hours, which meant that the girls would most likely be aiming up for dinner at around their pick up time if not earlier, so I packed them dinner as well as lunch!

 And while I was packing their dinner, I made one for myself as lunch. I had Ferrero Rocher for my dessert instead of healthy yoghurt like the girls did. We all had garlic bread, lasagne muffins and salad.

I love these Texas Muffin cups I picked up in New Zealand last time we were there. They are a little tall for the Easy Lunchboxes but make a great sized meal. I made the lasagnes on the weekend prior and froze these babies ready to pack on the fly which made these dinner super quick to assemble. All I had to do was toss in some salad, some story bought garlic bread, and the variations on dessert.

DandeLion Lunch

I had the park on the brain with the Under 8s  Barefoot in the Park day so I made Miss M this lunch :-)

She is loving the Lunchbox Love Notes I bought late last year. I hadn't used them much as I figured she couldn't read them and the teachers have plenty to do at lunchtime already, but these Joke cards are great! Miss M is developing her sense of humour and while she doesn't understand why I don't always laugh at her jokes, she does love it when I can fire one of these back at her. . . and then it turns into lunch!

 This cute little Dande-Lion was made using a circle cutter and a larger flower cutter.

You can't really see the Sinchies yoghurt pouch under the sandwich saver in our Nude Food Movers Rubbish Free Lunchbox. Sides were mandarin/grape flower, bikkies & dip, wafer biscuits.

It seems I own a few lion picks! Jut as well to go with the flowers in these cucumbers.

Happy Valentine's Day

Bonus lunch this week as I've been feeling a little slack on the blog front of late. This simple lunch went with Miss M in her first week of prep. 

Yoghurt and grapes in the snack pods, top left; Vegemite sandwich with heart imprint (made by repurposing my pocket sandwich cutter) highlighted with butter & sprinkles; under the sandwich is her milk drink. The Mango Macadamia Bliss Balls I shared earlier in the week are there along with some lamingtons for afternoon tea. Brain break was crackers, cheese & salami. A small heart cut out of the salami was replaced with a small cheese one <3. A few picks and a silicon cup from Daiso added to the theme.

Strawberry Swirl Yoghurt

 Do you remember my Strawberry Soup/Sauce I shared a few weeks ago? Here's one of my re-purposes for it.

 Miss M had a playdate with a kindy friend and as always requested matching lunches.

 So here we have some ham & cheese pocket sandwiches with sprinkle hearts. Strawberries and grapes, and some vanilla yoghurt with strawberry sauce swirl.

Both served in Easy Lunchboxes with mini dippers (found at affiliate Bento USA here). Spoons from affiliate Little Bento World.

Slippery Fish

Miss M came home with a new song from Kindy the other day, so here's a lunch to celebrate it. :-)

I melted some cheese in a silicon cup and decorated with some pepperoni. There's more pepperoni & cheese below.

The banana octopus I drew on with permanent marker the night before, when I pack Miss M's lunch.

Can you see the little dots I left for myself for the morning?

In the morning I cut through the skin up to the dots. . .

. . . fanned out the skin a little. . .

. . . cut off half the banana (which Honey had for breakfast). . .

. . . and painted with some juice to stop it browning.

It fits quite nicely in this section of her Nude Food Movers Rubbish Free Lunchbox I think :-)

I must admit I'm kind of proud of my whale. I was struggling trying to think what I might have that could work when in amongst my cookie cutter collection I found a map of the USA. I never thought I'd use that cutter but lo & behold I found a repurpose for it! A little FooDoodler detail and an extra piece of cheese for the water spout et voila!

Snack Boxes

Super quick Flashback Friday today as I get busy shaking this flu.

This little snack box is filled with a trail mix to take on a day outing. Biscuit pieces, pretzels, sultanas, a cheese stick, Little Bellies cereal and a Little Bellies Choo Choo bar.











I was kind of stoked when I discovered my pocket sandwich maker was the perfect fit for this little lunchbox!

Easter My Little Pony Lunch

How are your school holidays going? We have been flat out here, so I'll be brief in describing the lunch Miss M took for her last day at Kindy before the break.












I asked Miss M what she would like for her sandwich suggesting she might like something for Easter. Of course she asked for My Little Pony - 'When Granny Smith & Apple Bloom are singing to the water'. Thankfully I had also seen the episode Family Appreciation Day so I knew what she was talking about :-)
I grabbed a screenshot from the episode and with some FooDoodlers and greaseproof paper made a decorative cheese to top her sandwich, which was de-crusted with our pocket sandwich cutter.










Below I included two mini plastic eggs, just the right size to hold a strawberry each.

I did give her a little chocolate treat on top of her yoghurt for the day, although I really could have made this with frozen yoghurt.

Fruit for today was a mandarin that I tried to draw on to turn into an Easter Egg.  Didn't really work so I found some stickers instead. I used a plastic Easter Egg to help hold it upright.

Also included are some grapes with a few bunnies.










Overall a cute little lunch, even if I do say so myself.

Rainbow Lunch

I had every intention of being organised enough to post the lunch Miss M took for St Patrick's Day *on* St Patrick's Day, but didn't quite make it. A week late isn't too bad is it? I love the free printable Lunchbox Love note (download here) 'What kind of bow can't be tied? A Rainbow!' I can only assume I'm running out of ink for it to have printed with the wrong colours. No complaints from Miss M though.

Do you like the FooDoodler sandwich? I'm kind of happy with how it turned out, but I can't take credit for the idea.

I was inspired by 'Everyday Bento'. I will do a full review later when I've had more time to play, but I couldn't wait to start trying out some of Wendolonia's ideas.

I filled the gap under our ham & cheese sandwich with a cute little food ring and some mini containers. One filled with sultanas, the other with blueberries.

Miss M wasn't convinced that the corn was actually the leprechaun's pot of gold, even with the cute little food pick.

And I thought she must have been coming down with something because she didn't go for the cheese gold either. It was sitting on top of some pepperoni with some rice crackers in the ziplock behind.

Also included was a Sinchies yoghurt and a juice popper.

Happy St Paddy's Day!

Simple lunch for St Patrick's day this year. Apricot with a food ring, crackers, pepperoni and cheese with FooDoodler Irish Flag, four leaf clover sandwich, Sinchies yoghurt and a popper, all served in Nude Food Movers

I cut Miss M's ham & cheese sandwich with my pocket cutter and added some crusts to the bottom. Upturned a cookie cutter to imprint the four leaf clover before colouring in with a FooDoodler and adding a nori face.

Crackers in a ziplock above the snack pod keep them crunchy seeing as I make lunches the night before & store them in the fridge. A cute little food ring sits on the Irish flag made from cheese coloured with FooDoodlers.
