Honey loves her Very Cranky Bear books so I made her lunch about it.
Moose was made with cheese, sultanas and a cheerio; lion was nori and a corn cob; sheep CuteZCute egg mould; zebra from a banana and Bear a CuteZCute sandwich with FooDoodlers. She also had a bag of animal biscuits for snack, mandarin flower and yoghurt.
All in our Nude Food Movers.

Nude Cars Lunch
I apologies for being a little absent of late - has it really been a fortnight since I posted a lunch? Life has gotten a bit busy and while I am still creating fun lunches for the girls, and occasionally for myself, publishing them has fallen lower on my list of priorities.
This one is from *ages* ago! Apple cars, bikkies with dip in the silicon mould, sandwich and yoghurt pouch below. The sandwich was cut with the CuteZCute cutter.
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.

Hiding Tiger Lunch
One of Miss M's reading books at prep was 'Hiding' with various animals hiding in the tall dry grass. So I made her a 'Hiding' lunch :-)
Cherry tomatoes hiding under some beetroot, passionfruit hiding in her yoghurt, her tiger sandwich hiding (not very well) in some pretzel grass. For brain break she had strawberries, with green & gold kiwi fruit and milk in her Juice in the Box.
Honey had the same but different. Her yoghurt was in a pouch
Honey helped to make the lunches and seemed to really go for the Vegemite while I was making Miss M's so I tried one layer of her sandwich as Vegemite. Guess which layer came home >.< Seems she just likes it straight from the jar *sigh*.
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.

Mickey Mouse Lunches
Miss M's show & share theme was Disney characters last week. She was very excited to take along some of the Disney food picks from my collection.
I used the CuteZCute cutter to cut out a shape and coloured in with FooDoodlers for this lunch, served with popcorn and strawberries. not pictured are the yoghurt pouch and drink box she took as well.
I haven't gotten around to sharing this lunch yet either so thought I'd pop it in. We went through a few of the Lunchbox Love Notes a little while back and this was one of my favourites.
Do you know the answer?

Same But Different
I've been trying to remember to pack some veggies into the girls lunch boxes. Today it was some leftover corn cobs.
Honey took mini pies with sauce, banana, corn, teddy bear sandwich, Gogo Juice, cereal trail mix and yoghurt.
Miss M took corn, yoghurt, teddybear sandwich, banana and Gogo Juice.

Yours and Mine Octopi
Have you entered to #win one of four starter packs from Juice in the Box yet? Time is running out, today is the last day!!! Hurry and get your entry in! See this previous post for details!

This was the last lunch I made for the girls while they were in daycare together these school holidays. Honey has been learning about sea creatures in her room and I thought it high time I made something fishy for her ;-)
And one of Miss M's favourite daycare foods was cheerios which I would often cut into 'onto-dogs' and haven't done for *ages* so took the opportunity.
I love how the mandarin I tossed into the sands of our Nude Food Movers look like tentacles creeping out too!
Don't forget our Juice in the Box GIVEAWAY in this previous post! Last day to enter!!
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.

Twin Cats Lunch
I mentioned yesterday that the girls both went to daycare last week which was wonderful! I still picked them up at their normal time but gee what a difference it made only having the one pick up stop! I'd managed to make some cheat chicken pies the first day they were so that's what Honey had of her sandwich alternative today. She also had strawberries, wafer biscuits, cat sandwich, yogurt, biscuits and dip and some juice in her Juice in the Box.
After Miss M didn't ask for her noodles to be cooked yesterday I thought I'd make them ahead of time like I used to do so they only needed to be reheated at daycare. She also asked for a lamington since she didn't get one the day before and passionfruit on her yoghurt. She also has bikkies & dip and juice in her Juice in the Box. They had juice today because I used it to treat Miss M's apple which she's started to ask for being peeled & chopped. Simple enough to do and dipping it in the juice of her Juice in the Box means that nothing is wasted!
Have you entered our Juice in the Box GIVEAWAY in this previous post?! One week left!!

Huge Easter Round Up
I've been a little slack posting Easter offerings this year so here's a giant round up of the lunches Miss M has been taking. This first one though was for Honey -her first official Bento Box! This is what I packed for her to graze on while we were at our local Playgroup open day and markets.
Cheese and sultanas, cucumber checkerboard, moulded egg on lettuce, sandwich hearts, celery with peanut butter and sultanas (ants on a log).
Gingerbread man repurposed as a bunny.
Sides of grapes and salami & cheese, crackers not shown.
Yoghurt pouch beneath the sandwich.
Simple and quick cookie cutter imprint.
Add a few picks to make it super cute.
Easter Egg apple. I got this idea from the Little Bento World Customers group :-)
Practice run of my display lunch for the markets.
Upside-down CuteZCute with bread off cuts for ears.
Grapes and blueberries with a cute little pick.
Gotta love some Bunny Butts!
My new Rabbit vegetable cutter arrived so I had to try it out straight away :-)
Nestled it into some watermelon.
A simple FooDoodler egg
This was the display lunch I ended up making for the Playgroup markets - cute don't you think? I added some bunny picks in the morning after I realised I hadn't already done so :-/
Super quick cheese art. Out of the blue Miss M asked to watch Kung Fu Panda again, so I made her a Child Rabbit :-)
And another gingerbread man-bunny.
*Phew*
Wishing you and yours a Happy and Safe Easter!

Advance Australia Bento
What an exciting week we had last week. Miss M began her journey into Prep and although I'd planned a 'blue' lunch for her first day, a last minute change of plans seemed in order to celebrate Australia Day.
For 'Brain Break' I packed her favourite salami & cheese with some grapes & blueberries, inspired by our national flag.
I must admit I'm struggling a little with thinking of what to pack for her afternoon tea. Her lunch routine has changed this year and instead of morning tea where we would usually have fruit, she's now having lunch at that time, followed by afternoon tea, brain break and after school snack.
I used some baking paper decorated with FooDoodlers to help her to pull the sandwich out of the box.
All served in our Nude Food Movers.
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.

Her lunchbox stays in the fridge for most of the day, however it sits in the playground while her class has their 'lunchtime ' play. I thought I would play it safe for her first day and packed some blue popcorn and frozen lamingtons for her afternoon tea. Lunch was a vegemite CuteZCute Cuddle Palz koala, yoghurt and some strawberries with a small flag pick. Under the sandwich is her drink bottle with milk.

Market Stall Lunches
I was very excite to hold my first market stall in December 2014, selling some Bento goodies. If you are in the Emerald, QLD area and would like some more information, please drop me a line: LovingLunches at gmail dot com :-)
This is the 'display' lunch I made. As it was on display for a few hours with the lid open and many flies appreciating the work it wasn't consumed, but it did look appetising!
The sandwich was actually just the crust with a CuteZCute cute out turned over. I added a few 'pig noses' for the tentacles with the centre circles being made from the crusts. The off cut circles became 'bubbles'. Eye picks and a pig-ear cut out, again from crust complete the look. I've been wanting to make a CuteZCute Octopus ever since I saw this adorable post. What do you think? Did I do the original justice?
Some more cute eye picks and some FooDoodlers turned a couple of cheerios into Octo-dogs which are always a winner for us.
And our fish egg mould egg had a swim in some lettuce 'kelp'. A couple of the circle bread off cuts from the sandwich acted as bubbles and a little colour added with FooDoodlers.
Then this was my actual nibble-all-day-long lunch. A couple of store bought finger laminations, some Tic Tacs, and a whole heap of local grapes. All served in Easy Lunch Boxes.
I had such a wonderful time meeting so many lovely locals and sharing the Bento love with my community. I look forward to lots more Bento action in town, stay tuned!
If you would like to sign up for our Loving Lunches Locals email, you can do so via this link. I intend to keep the blog more focused on food rather than sales ;-)
