Mold it!

Egg molds create small, fun, shaped boiled eggs. This egg mold tutorial makes it look easy!

They are cute and at $3 for 2, I'm sure I will get my money's worth!  I am also going to try using them at dinner time for mashed potato. I may use them for freezing small amounts of yogurt too.

I'm sure I'll center many posts around these little guys! Just a shame the two molds are different shapes because I can guarantee my two will both want the same one!

I bought mine on Amazon  http://www.amazon.com/Kotobuki-Plastic-Mold-Rabbit-Bear

Bunny Lunch with Egg Mould Repurpose

This toddler lunch was all inspired by our humble bunny egg mould.

Leftover pasta with some mini sausage bunnies are separated from mixed vegetables and a 'Bunny Eggy' with a little baran.
Using the egg mould as a stamp, I added a little Bunny love to her sandwich.

I then used the egg mould itself to house some store bought dip and carrot sticks. Again separated with a little baran.
A mandarin and strawberry flower along with some yoghurt are some of my Honey Bunny's favourite sides. And they go well with the milk in her Juice in the Box.

Have you entered to WIN one of FOUR Juice in the Box starer bundles yet? See this previous post for details! Hurry! Ends this weekend!!

Thomas the Tank Engine Daycare Lunch

All aboard! Did you know that Thomas the Tank Engine is 70 this year? He's in pretty good shape don't you think? All the more reason to celebrate him in a lunchbox!!

I've used the Thomas pasta before as a bit of fun for both the girls. Today it was honey's turn to take it for lunch. She also has a Thomas shaped egg, coloured with FooDoodlers.

That egg mould I also used to create Thomas sandwiches! I felt so very clever!!

What do you think? Perfect to accompany Honey's yoghurt, mandarin, popcorn and Juice in the Box milk, right?

Don't forget to read up on this previous post about how you can WIN a Juice in the Box starter bundle to help keep your little ones chugging along ;-)

Teddy Bear Toddler Lunch

Have you been getting creative in the kitchen these holidays? Miss M helped me to make some lemon cordial and I sent some to daycare with Honey in her Juice in the Box with this Teddy bear inspired lunch!

Simple side of fruit salad and yoghurt, along with some Teddy-rific mains :-)
I used our CuteZCute original cutter to shape some of our leftover spaghetti marinara. Some of the carrot was also cut with the CuteZCute.
Miss M never really went for eggs but Honey loves her 'Teddy Eggy' (and those Tiny Teddy treat biscuits below it)
Her sandwich today was also made with the CuteZute. I used the bear ears/nose/mouth and the eyes from the cat to make the Teddy extra cute ;-)
For those interested in the lemon cordial, it was based on this recipe by Matt Preston.

What would you pack in your Juice in the Box if you WIN one of the FOUR up for grabs in our current giveaway? Details in this previous post!

The Cow That Laid an Egg Lunch

Every morning at school drop off Honey loves to run to the reading corner and pick a book (or ten!). And Miss M's friends love reading them to her which is so lovely to see. One of the new books she noticed this term was The Cow That Laid an Egg. All three of us really enjoyed it and in the back of my mind a quick lunch began to take shape!

I've been looking for an excuse to try out our Fred & Friends Chicken Egg Mould. What could be more perfect? And our favourite Lunch Punch cutter got a work out too. (The cow was part of a limited edition set, sadly no longer available). I trimmed baby cow's legs and set to with some FooDoodlers to turn it into a chick.

I also (poorly) attempted to recreate Marjorie's (the cow) expression when she found out she'd laid an egg. A few food picks complete the scene.

While we're here I found this cow lunch amongst my un-blogged photos. Let's pretend these were the sides I sent along with the feature lunch since I can't actually remember what I did send that day! All in our Nude Food Movers.

Huge Easter Round Up

I've been a little slack posting Easter offerings this year so here's a giant round up of the lunches Miss M has been taking. This first one though was for Honey -her first official Bento Box! This is what I packed for her to graze on while we were at our local Playgroup open day and markets.

Cheese and sultanas, cucumber checkerboard, moulded egg on lettuce, sandwich hearts, celery with peanut butter and sultanas (ants on a log).

Gingerbread man repurposed as a bunny.

Sides of grapes and salami & cheese, crackers not shown.

Yoghurt pouch beneath the sandwich.

Simple and quick cookie cutter imprint.

Add a few picks to make it super cute.

Easter Egg apple. I got this idea from the Little Bento World Customers group :-)

Practice run of my display lunch for the markets.

Upside-down CuteZCute with bread off cuts for ears.

Grapes and blueberries with a cute little pick.

Gotta love some Bunny Butts!

My new Rabbit vegetable cutter arrived so I had to try it out straight away :-)

Nestled it into some watermelon.

A simple FooDoodler egg

This was the display lunch I ended up making for the Playgroup markets - cute don't you think? I added some bunny picks in the morning after I realised I hadn't already done so :-/

Super quick cheese art. Out of the blue Miss M asked to watch Kung Fu Panda again, so I made her a  Child Rabbit :-)

And another gingerbread man-bunny.

*Phew*
Wishing you and yours a Happy and Safe Easter!
