Owl Cupcakes

Did you go Trick-or-Treatig last night? It's not something we've ever really gotten into here in Australia, but it is on the rise.

We didn't participate this year, but I was thinking of making these little beauties again. . .

*Flashback Friday*

Last year I went on a mini cupcake decorating bender. Here are a few of versions of owls I played around with.

  • Halved Maltesers with choc drops for eyes
  • jelly bean beaks
  • Banana chip wings

And here they are without the choc drops - for a slightly more spooky owl.

My chocolate version was made with:

  • halved Maltesers and mini florals eyes
  • M&M beaks
  • halved pretzel wings

A note on these - the open Maltesers and pretzels don't last very well, so decorate them as close as possible to serving if  you want some crunch.

And I had a couple of mini Oreos floating about so I used them too!
Also with choc drops and M&Ms. The wings are TeeVee Stix.

If you are celebrating/celebrated Halloween, I hope you have/had a Hoot!
