Did you know The Gruffalo was first published in 1999? I didn't realise how 'young' he is! Honey received a Gruffalo sounds book for Christmas and between that & the TV special it is quickly becoming a favourite in our house.
Ever since seeing this lunch from Eats Amazing I've wanted to make a Gruffalo lunch. Not quite as comprehensive, but here's what I packed for Miss M to take to prep.
Plum eye with sultana pupil. The plum offcuts became the 'black' tongue.
The purple prickles are wafer biscuits sprayed with food colouring - I still had some left over after her My Little Pony Party last year.
{Miss M came home that day & asked for more Gruffalo lunches! Turns out she really just wants more wafer biscuits :-D }
And a little cheese art Gruffalo and Mouse atop her sandwich.
Served in Nude Food Movers Rubbish Free Lunchbox.
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.
