That's No' How Ye Make Porridge!

I can't make porridge without having this advert stuck in my head for ages afterwards. Do you remember it? To be honest I think I saw the Full Frontal version before the original, but it was a long time ago so I might be mistaken :-)

I love the idea of waking up in the morning to a house full of fragrant porridge, so I Googled and Googled for a good slow cooker porridge recipe, but most of the comments I read on the posts said that it had burnt, or there was a funny taste to it. . . Good thing our Kambrook Quatro Multi Cooker has more than one function then!

I decided to try making porridge with the rice cooker function. Again I googled, and made an executive decision to wing it :-)

I pretty well used the same measurements you would with rice. 2 cups quick oats (yes quick, not the traditional style), 4 cups milk. That's it. I didn't do any additions or sweeteners just to see how it would work.As you can see it looked a little meh after cooking, and there were a few burnt bit on the bottom, but to be able to enjoy a cup of tea in peace, I'm not complaining!

At the table we added some more milk and honey to taste. This was a little too much for the 4 of us this time around, but the girls appetites can vary greatly, so you can rest assured we'll be making it again. Maybe next time I'll add some toasted almonds to mine. . .
Have you entered our competition to win a Kambrook Quatro Multi Cooker yet?
Just in time for Mother's Day. . . I'm just saying. . .
