Alice in Wonderland - White Rabbit

Last week at day care Miss M's class hosted a Mad Hatter's Tea Party. There was a lot of excited build up for the kids & I couldn't help but be inspired & send a week's worth of Wonderland in a Lunchbox. You can see a collection of Pinspiration here.
The first day was White Rabbit day

In the main compartment I sent:
Sausages, cut as rabbits; a rabbit egg; some steamed broccoli
White rabbit ham & cheese sandwich
Green yoghurt with frozen White Rabbit shape
Pepperoni & cheese clock

In the top layer I sent:
Juice
Checkerboard Apple
White Rabbit bottom cake

For more detail on each section please continue reading :-)

I fell in love with this little Egg Rabbit from Eats Amazing and couldn't wait to give it a try. I didn't round off the ears & as a result they sort of flopped a bit. Eyes are black sesame seeds.

It's a bit difficult to see the detail on the sausages, but if you squint you can see the little rabbit eyes & smile.  I used this sausage cutter available from affiliate Bento USA

We had our usual cheese & ham sandwich. Today it was turned into a white rabbit by using a gingerbread man pancake mould, turned on it's head, arms cut off & rearranged as nose. Details are made from ham off cuts, black sesame seds & sultanas. The glasses are also from affiliate Bento USA.

I added a drop of food colouring to Miss M's yoghurt to turn it green & left her frozen shape as plain vanilla. I can't remember where I got my easter silicon mould from, but I'm pretty sure it was Aldi.

I used a FooDoodler (available from affiliate Neat 2 Eat) to draw some clock hands on cheese to go with crackers & Pepperoni from Walkerston Country Meats.

Originally I'd planned to send a plain Rabbit bottom cake. . .

Then I thought the bottom would stand out nicer with some colour behind it. . .

So I 'painted the grass green' ;-)

Different sized marshmallows used to create the rabbit, and foot detail with Writing Icing

Do tune in this week for the rest of this series & check out some of the fantastic lunches that inspired me at Bent On Better Lunches Linky Party below.
