Book Week Dragon Lunch

Last week Miss M's class were invited to come to Kindy dressed up as fairy tale characters to celebrate book week. Of course she wanted to go as a dragon, so I enlisted her help to come up with the perfect dragon lunch.

This was one I made a few weeks ago when the topic of dragons came up. Sandwich cut with dinosaur cutter and then the crust off-cuts fashioned into spines. Yoghurt, milk drink, and a cheese, pepperoni & cherry tomato flower. I realised I forgot the wings for the dragons and quickly added them in the morning.

This time I forgot the spines *sigh*. But Miss M decided that the mummy & daddy dragon needed to be sitting on a mountain of treasure 'Because dragons like treasure, Mummy!' So I cut some cheese 'dubloons', and skewered some fruit bits 'jewels/sceptres' and tossed in a few cachous for extra 'jewel-ly-ness'.

Mummy & Daddy were protecting their baby Dragon Egg, who also got to sleep in a bed of gold (aka corn kernals).

And some more fruit bit 'jewels' topped off her yoghurt. I couldn't resist adding a little note, 'You are my Treasure'.

Did you do anything fun for Book Week?

  1. I enjoyed reading about how you and your daughter designed her lunch. So special! I love working with kids to come up with ideas for their lunch.
