For Miss M's last week of school she insisted everyday taking her giant Nude Food Movers Lunch Pack. Which worked out well as it holds our new Juice in the Box rather nicely! This day she asked for a Tigress sandwich 'with sprinkles'. Let's just say Google and I were on completely different pages when I asked for inspiration on that one o.O !
Simple cheese art on top of a flower (with sprinkles!) sandwich. Sides of mandarin (with dodgey pen drawing), pepperoni/cheese/crackers, yoghurt and my favourite homemade smoothie Gogo Juice in her Juice in the Box.
And this is how it all fits into the large outer box.
Do you like the look of those Juice in the Box drink containers? Stay tuned for more details including a review and giveaway launching this weekend!

More Minions
Have you seen the new Minion movie? We are hoping to make it to the cinema while Miss M is on holidays but the days are filling up fast!
I'm back at work now and last week there was a late notice bring a plate morning tea. Rather than trying to bake with two tired munchkins we decided to make Minion Jelly instead! That was the inspiration for their lunches the next day.
I just happened to have some dinner rolls and I wanted to make a dinner roll Minion for the last lunch I made. This one is topped with nori and some mini marshmallows coloured with FooDoodlers. There's also a quickie cheese art to top her 'back up' sandwich ;-)
A golden kiwi fruit.
Minion coloured popcorn.
Miss M had her Minion jelly in a Sinchies food pouch and milk in her Juice in the Box. All this packed into her giant Nude Food Mover Lunch Pack.
I couldn't let Honey go without joining in the fun too. She's got milk in her Juice in the Box too, yoghurt and jelly in the snack pods.
The blue hadn't really set and I didn't let the yellow cool enough to get a nice clean line between the two, but no one seemed to mind :-)
More Minion popcorn and a pear for snacks.
Some mini pies and sauce in the container for lunch. Ham, cheese and FooDoodler details.

Another Very Hungry Caterpillar
Gosh, has it really been two years since I made my first version of The Very Hungry Caterpillar? (You can see that in this previous post)
This latest version is made from circle Vegemite sandwiches and a plum head with cute food picks for detail. Added to the compartment are a cheerio, cheese, salami, mini ice cream cone, and a mini cake. All with little 'nibbles' taken out :-).
The rest of Miss M's Nude Food Movers was filled with watermelon in the double snack pod (blue, one the left), yoghurt in a Sinchies pouch (under the caterpillar) and a juice popper/box.
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.

Watch Dog Lunch
Miss M has been telling some weird & wonderful jokes lately so I was very pleased to start including some Lunchbox Love notes. This Nude Food Movers Watchdog themed lunch was quick and simple to prepare. Yoghurt, TicToc biscuits, Lunch Punch sandwich, I can't remember which fruit I packed below the sandwich, and a milk popper.

Double Zecora - Two for One Nori Cutting!
Miss M was working through the alphabet at Prep and came to Z . . .obviously for Zecora of My Little Pony fame!
I made this Easy Lunchbox for her with nori cutting and FooDoodler cheese. I tried to emulate Zecora's cutie mark with the mandarin and cheese 'swirl'. What do you think? Did it pass? There's some yoghurt in the red container as well.
I realised after I'd done the nori cutting that I'd accidentally made another perfect opportunity for lunch! The next day Miss M had the offcuts of the original design with some quickie rockmelon slices and a yoghurt pouch below the sandwich.
Brain break was packed separately both days.
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.

Muesli Bites Recipe & Easy Peasy Sushi Maker
I promised a recipe for the Muesli Bites in this previous post so before I forget, here it is!
I didn't actually change the original too much.
In a blender (I don't own a food processor) mix together 2 cups of your favourite toasted muesli, 1 cup pitted prunes, 1/4 cup honey and 50g melted butter. Use an Easy Peasy Sushi maker to hold into logs. Roll these in some extra muesli before placing in the fridge to firm up. Slice into bite sized pieces.
My poor old blender is on it's last legs and couldn't quite cope with the thick prune mixtures. You can see a few mangled spares sitting to the side here.
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.

DandeLion Lunch
I had the park on the brain with the Under 8s Barefoot in the Park day so I made Miss M this lunch :-)
She is loving the Lunchbox Love Notes I bought late last year. I hadn't used them much as I figured she couldn't read them and the teachers have plenty to do at lunchtime already, but these Joke cards are great! Miss M is developing her sense of humour and while she doesn't understand why I don't always laugh at her jokes, she does love it when I can fire one of these back at her. . . and then it turns into lunch!
This cute little Dande-Lion was made using a circle cutter and a larger flower cutter.
You can't really see the Sinchies yoghurt pouch under the sandwich saver in our Nude Food Movers Rubbish Free Lunchbox. Sides were mandarin/grape flower, bikkies & dip, wafer biscuits.
It seems I own a few lion picks! Jut as well to go with the flowers in these cucumbers.
What is your favourite children's joke?
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.

Cake Stall Bento
Our local Playgroup had a Barefoot in the Park celebration for Under 8s week recently and when they asked for donations to go towards the cake stall I knew I had to spread a little more Loving Lunches love around :-)
The afternoon before the big day I cut made some Vegemite dolphin and some Honey elephant sandwiches. I also assembled some mandarin/grape flowers and made some mini bread & butter puddings from some of the bread offcuts. The sandwiches stayed on the bench overnight while the fruit & pudding were tucked away in the fridge. In the morning it was a simple task of assembling in their disposable containers and popping them in cooler bags while I did the school run.
I had a stall at the Fun Day too and this is the Yumbox I packed for Honey to share with her friend while she had a playdate at the event.
Their favourite wafer biscuits, some muesli bites (recipe soon), cheese stick, bread & butter puddings and cucumber.
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.

Kung Fu Panda Lunches of Awesomeness Master Shifu
Did you enjoy the Kung Fu Panda inspired lunches I shared last week? I couldn't leave Master Shifu out and while I'd intended to make this lunch in much the same way as I did with Po life got in the way. I still think he turned out OK. Not pictured is the yoghurt pouch that accompanied this lunch. Do you like the look of that groovy milk bottle? Stay tuned for some exciting news about that! More details in the coming weeks :-)

Kung Fu Panda Lunches of Awesomeness Mr Ping
Ok, so Mr Ping isn't a Kung Fu master, but he does make one awesome Secret Ingredient Soup! This was what I sent for Miss M the day she took noodles for lunch in our new thermos! I wasn't sure how she would go with the noodles and felt I needed to pack her something more for second break. Turns out I didn't need to, but with her current appetite I'd much rather play it safe :-)
Mr Ping is simple FooDoodler on cheese.
I quite like how this lotus inspired mandarin flower came out too! A little more manly than the one I regularly make.

Kung Fu Panda Lunches of Awesomeness Monkey
Miss M chose this image of Monkey sitting on top of his staff as her favourite from the 'Secrets of the Furious Five'. I used some wafer sticks for the staff and just had to include a banana. It's difficult to see but Monkey has his pants now. You will just have to watch to find out what that's all about ;-)
Monkey is made from nori laid on cheese. Perhaps my favourite part of this lunch is being able to say that the moon *is* made of cheese!!

Kung Fu Panda Lunches of Awesomeness Viper
Sweet young Viper! Born with no teeth (and therefore no venom) learned to ribbon dance to bring joy to her father.
Side of yoghurt and apple with strawberry today.
Here I made Viper from a bread crust and cheese with nori cutting, layered like I did with Tigress (see this earlier post). Her ribbon is made from fruit leather as is the colour in her face. Panda Po is watching on :-)
This is a better angle to see that toothless grin :D

Kung Fu Panda Lunches of Awesomeness Crane
Half way through our Kung Fu Panda: Lunches of Awesomeness and today we have Crane.
Made using nori cutting and FooDoodlers on top of cheese again and placed on Miss M's Vegemite sandwich.
I did add a Panda pick, but it must have been after I took the photos - D'oh!
My first attempt at making an applecrane swan after watching this video and I'm kind of happy with how it turned out. Next time I must use slimmer guides, but for a quick go this worked fine. My only problem was that it was too tall for my lunchbox!

Kung Fu Panda Lunches of Awesomeness Tigress
This was the first lunch in this series that I made. Tigress is Miss M's favourite from the Furious Five and in the Kung Fu Panda 'Secrets of the Furious Five' we get to see her as a cub. Tigress' story reminds me of how much influence a child's friends (or lack of) can impact them.
Tigress was made using nori and FooDoodlers on cheese. I layered the eyes and added a layer of fruit leather which I also used for her shirt.
I loved how this Wendolonia inspired mandarin flower came out when I added the strawberry rose (Inspiration here.)
Fun Panda pick a must in all these lunches!

Kung Fu Panda Lunches of Awesomeness Mantis
I am so stoked with how Mantis turned out in this lunch!
Made from snow peas, asparagus and brussel sprouts with cheese eyes. Held together with cheese spread. I do love his little moustache, don't you?
His apple self though. . . not so pretty. It looks more like a freaked out frog to me, but Miss M didn't complain :-)

Kung Fu Panda Lunches of Awesomeness Po
If you've been following on Instagram you may have noticed Miss M is back to loving Kung Fu Panda. She loves the Legends of Awesomeness series and we recently watched the Secrets of the Furious Five. I love a good original story and this was five in one! Needless to say she asked for some Kung Fu Panda lunches and I was all to happy to oblige.
A super quick lunch for the end of a busy week. Yogurt, grapes and some nori cutting & FooDoodlers on cheese atop a plain sandwich. Not pictured are brain break snack & drink.
Stay tuned all week for the complete Lunches of Awesomeness set!

Mexican Vegetable Soup Maker Soup
I had the idea a few weeks ago that a Mexican inspired soup would be just the thing, and this is what I came up with.
1 jar of salsa
500g frozen peas/carrot/corn/capsicum mix
1 - 2 cups beef stock
Pop it all in the Kambrook Soup Simple on 'chunky' setting and wait for lunch to cook itself!
I took some to work for a light evening snack with some rice crackers and a few TicTacs for after :-)
Served in my Compl-Eat Energy Booster.
Details of my tools & toys can be found on this page.
